All SM MSE's clip!

Postby MDMA on Thu Mar 29, 2012 3:37 am

I have made hundreds of tests and follow all the available advice I could find in the forum, I've tried hold on and gate off, both on, etc, a release module at the end(that avoids clipping but gives phase issues instea, like the notes are overlaping each other), tried a lowpass filter after it thinking that might help but no, tried to mess about with the all the midi to poly options 2 and just recently found this: http://synthmaker.co.uk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=tips_and_tricks:retrigger_workaround:retrigger_workaround , is it still applicable in SM 2.0.5? If yes, how could I use it and what would it do exactly in practical terms?

Now here is the thing, I can get it not to clip or overlap and glue notes if in my host snap is ON when I am writing my notes, if I turn snap off and start streching/shortening the notes on the piano roll, that's where all MSE's start clipping!
This is probably why we dont see many stuff build on SM that has MSE's right?

Any sharing of past experiences or help with a workarround will be much apreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Only 4 lines of code, how can you not test it yourself?
Need help? First search the forum & WiKi, then post in the help forum with a clear topic, request, & OSM. Then please WiKi the correct solution. If you want my personal assistance, I charge by the hour or for an exchange of services.

The MSE's allready have a retrigger section and the primitive adsr on that example does'nt exist anymore plus it seems like its used for custom envelopes right? I don't know where to place it hence why I made the question in the first place but I can understand by other custom envelopes that its its purpose!

But anyway my main question remains the same, is there a way not too make these fellows clip at all?

I'm sure you can answer that Infuzion as you've coded quite a few of them!

Thanks!
