64 Bit dll issue

Postby billv on Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:52 pm

I've got a few people out there on 64 bit systems, who are having trouble loading my X11FL generator.
I've Never had a 64-bit issue come up before. Havn't got the slightest idea what to do about it.
It's all built in SM except for the Clocks.
Can anyone poke me in the right direction here......

Yes.
One guy posted a swf video,http://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?f=1930&t=89670
of his experience trying to open it. You have to be logged in to see it though.
Does SM have any 64 bit capability?
Can a 32 bit SM made dll work on 64 bit with no problem?? What's the rules here??

Malc says SM is 32bit and 64bit users will have to use J-bridge or similar option.

Sounds like a brush-off to me...
Have you tested that?

stw wrote:At least Malc is alive.... ;) Sorry for being off topic but i couldn't resist.
No, that is on-topic, since SM is not open-source so we need Malc & Jeorge to be alive if we ever hope SM to see another update.

Ha ha that's funny. I got stuck into him as well in my e-mail cause I havn't seen him around for years.
He's had a talk to Image-line. FL is 32 bit. Plug ins do not require a bridge for 64 bit.
They tested it and all good.
Most likley the user did not place the dll into the FL generators folder, and put into their VST PLug ins folder instead.
Still waiting for feedback from user to verify this.

Doesen't matter the folder. Since X11 does not work also adding it to generators forlder. :(
Don't know whats happen. Should be a problem of FL SM. Because my plugins works on 64 bit machines and inside 32bit DAW like FL studio.

Yeh I'm lost with your case at the moment as well
The user who had the problem verified they got it up and running.

Can you check the size of the dll is 9.4mb-just in case you got a dodgy download??

that's all i can think of at the moment.

More 64-bit User feedback has come in - no problems.

There was one guy, who was using an old version of FL Studio(FL9) and couldn't run it.
In that case the file needs to go into a folder first, called (X11FL). So he's all good now.

Sometimes FL synthmakers compiles bad. Sometimes changing the name i will not work.. sometimes re-compiling works. There is a probelm with FL synthmaker. (now i got FL producer edition). :D ;)
