SM 1.1.5: Vista, ACCESSS-DENIED problem

Postby rl on Thu Jan 07, 2010 8:22 am

The autorecovery mechanism reports every 30 s "CSMDoc::OnSaveDocument> failed to open file".

The culprit seems to be an ACCESS-DENIED error when SM tries to write the recovery file in the c:\Program Files\Outsim\SyntMaker\Recovery folder.

Maybe the recovery folder should be moved to the user profile too.

Ah, this was probably fine when running as admin in earlier releases. Good spot. Seems only to affect certain security/login configs (it's fine on my various PCs here where I have a fairly standard setup).

Moving to the user profile would most probably be best. My only concern would be that the user profile folder is quite well hidden should anyone want to try and locate it.

Maybe adding a little 'Jump to my recovery folder' (or just 'Clear Recovery Files') button in one of the settings dialogues would help avoid any confusion?
Feel free to use any schematics and algorithms I post on the forum in your own designs - a credit is appreciated (but not a requirement).
Don't stagnate, mutate to create. Without randomness and serendipity the earth would be just another barren rock.
